Humpback whale in Bay of Islands
This amazing picture of a humpback whale breaching the water near the Hole in the Rock, in the outer Bay of Islands, about 12.40pm today.
This photograph was taken by staff on board the vessel Tangaroa (God of the Sea) which is on the Fuller's Great Sights Cream Trip.
The excited passengers on the boat, including Northland whale expert Floppy Halliday, probably didn't expect Tangaroa to deliver up as great a sight as this.
