Second logging truck crash

For the second morning in a row a logging truck has crashed on a Northland road as children made their way to school.

Emergency services were at Mangakahia Rd again this morning after a logging truck crashed. No other vehicles were involved and no one was injured.

A mechanical problem was suspected of causing a loaded logging truck to crash on Mangakahia Rd at Pakotai about 6am yesterday.

Whangarei police Constable Gregg Chisnall said speed did not appear to be an issue in the accident as the Smith and Davies truck had turned from Opouteke Rd and travelled only about 230m south on Mangakahia Rd before the crash happened.
