A Northland rugby dynasty has lost its matriarch with the death yesterday of Mary Going, aged 105 at her Maromaku home.

Mary Grace Going (nee Paki) is the mother of Northland rugby legends Sid, Ken and Brian Going. Sid and Ken were both All Blacks while all three brothers were capped as Maori All Blacks and all represented Northland with aplomb.

A service for Mrs Going will be held at The Church of Later Day Saints Chapel in Marlow Rd, Maromaku, at noon on Friday.
