Schools have been making the most of the fine weather and organising family trail rides as a fundraiser.

Aranga School took a ride through the Tutamoe Trail in the Wai o te Kumerau Valley and raised $5300 for the school.

More than 200 riders took part with many families staying overnight.

The Tutamoe Trail covers 80km over three farms and is considered one of the best trails in the world.

Riders came from all over Northland, Auckland and as far south as Morrinsville to enjoy the family fun and support Aranga School.

After two successful years, Maungaturoto Primary School held its third annual horse trek fundraiser in Maungaturoto on Saturday.

Otamatea Christian School is hosting its third four wheel drive Safari Fundraiser in Matakohe on Saturday, March 16.

A day of driving will be followed by a dinner.

There will be a monster waterslide on offer for the kids to enjoy.
