Northlanders have a chance this week to check out the work of three emerging artists with bright futures.

Like Clockwork, in the Turner Centre on Kerikeri's Cobham Rd, showcases the work of young Bay of Islands women Danielle Terrizzi, Bridie MacInnes and Chanelle Lindsay.

Danielle (Kerikeri) is in her second year studying design at Massey University in Wellington, majoring in fine arts. Last year she took out the school prize at the BDO Art Awards; her influences include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gustav Klimt and Stanley Donwood.

Bridie (Russell) is about to start her design studies, majoring in photography, after winning a scholarship to Massey. She graduated from Kerikeri High School with an armful of prizes for art and academic excellence. Her influences include the surrealists.

Chanelle (Kerikeri) is in her final year at Kerikeri High School, and is hoping to follow Dani and Bridie's footsteps in 2013.

Organiser Emma Godwin, of Arts Agency Aotearoa, said the exhibition celebrated the emerging talent of Northland art students.

"Their work is unique and displays a degree of sophistication and skill exceptional for the age of the artists. These young women are definitely talents to watch out for in the future," she said.

Their works were for sale by silent auction, with funds going towards the students' education.

The opening was in the Turner Centre foyer at 5.30pm yesterday .

To February 10. The show is open from 9am-5pm daily. Free admission. Email Emma Godwin: director@artsagencyaotearoa.com for more information.
