Pair do Far North proud
Far North Indoor Bowls Association held its annual Christmas Pairs tournament at the Takahue Hall last week.
Forty teams from around Northland competed, with generous support once again from Pub Charity and local businesses.
The day was rounded off with a sumptuous, well-deserved lunch, and the drawing of multiple raffles.
Winners for the day were Graham Ward and Dave Dobson from Whangarei with 4wins 24ends and 43 points.
Gerard Oud and Bertha Yerkovich (FN) were second with 4wins, 23ends and 41 points, E Yeates/L Nisbet (WR), 4wins, 22 ends, 49 points, 3; K Ward/Dave Ross (WR) 3 wins, 23ends, 41points, 4; D and L Christini (BOI) 3 wins, 17ends, 33points, 5.
Best sports were: B Pattinson/J Smith (BOI), B Boyd/B Cochrane (FN), G Yuretich/I Jurlina (FN), S Elliott/G Ujdur-Smith (WR). E McCarthy/M Murnane (FN).
