Fatal crash on State Highway 12 near Tokatoka
One person died when a car crashed on State Highway 12 near Tokatoka, south east of Dargaville.
The deceased person was the only occupant of the car and no other vehicle was involved in the crash which happened soon after 4pm today.
Traffic was diverted along Toka Toka and Blong Rds after both lanes of the highway were closed.
The region's road death toll now stands at three - the other two fatalities were motorcyclists.
