Prizes to Northland
A number of tickets sold in Northland won prizes in Lotto's Holiday promotion draw on Saturday night. Three tickets, two from Warkworth and one from Kaikohe, won $15,000 each. Three tickets sold in Whangarei, two in Warkworth, and one each from Wellsford, Kaitaia and Mangonui each won $5000 in the draw. The winning Lotto numbers were: 1, 3, 8, 14, 26 and 30, the bonus 34 and Powerball 10. The Lotto Strike numbers were: 26, 1, 8 and 30.
Youngsters suspected
Three youngsters suspected of shoplifting from the Factorie clothing store in Whangarei's Cameron St mall ran out of the shop at 5.40pm on Saturday, heading toward Rathbone St. A member of the public caught two of the trio, both 13-year-old girls, and held them until police arrived. Sergeant Craig Burrows said police still want to talk to the third suspect, a boy believed to be about the same age as the girls.
Reward for missing dog
Police are looking for an English bulldog reported stolen from its home in Kamo since New Year's Eve. The mainly white coloured bulldog has a distinctive round brindle patch on its back and another under its left ear. The owners are offering a reward for its return.
