Kiwi sounds delight music fans
Even predictions of foul weather didn't deter almost 3000 people turning up to the Tutukaka Marina Reserve on Sunday as the Classic Hits Winery Tour trundled into the north, bringing some of the best Kiwi music available.
The tour - featuring Fat Freddy's Drop, AnikaBoh&Hollie;, The Adults (Jon Toogood, Shayne Carter and Julia Deans) and Clara van Wel - is covering 17 dates over the next month.
The north's music fans were casting some worried eyes to the skies on Saturday as the weather started to turn damp and Sunday morning was greeted with steady showers in Whangarei.
But on the coast the rain stayed away till virtually the end of the four hour show at Tutukaka, ensuring that all had a great time listening to some great music.
Winery Tour co-promoter Campbell Smith was pleased to be back in one of his favourite spots.
"What an amazing night.
"The weather held on, the bands delivered and the crowd was brilliant.
"We love coming to Tutukaka and after a night like tonight we can't wait to get back here next year," he told the Northern Advocate after the show.
Northern Advocate photographer Tania Newman was in the audience to capture the fun times and the music.
