Northland woman in critical condition after assault

A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being assaulted at a house in Northland on Friday night.

Police said a 32-year-old man would appear in Whangarei District Court today charged with assault and breach of bail.

The 34-year-old woman was taken to Whangarei Hospital with head injuries after she was assaulted at the Kamo house in what police called a "family violence incident".
