High flyer soars into new role
A new drama school graduate has been appointed venue manager at Kerikeri's Turner Centre, replacing Erica Richards who has moved to Australia.
Nicola (Nicky) Smith completed her schooling at Kerikeri High in 2009 and graduated last year with a bachelor's degree in performing arts management from Toi Whakaari/The New Zealand Drama School in Wellington.
There she was awarded the inaugural Bill Guest award, a scholarship recognising leadership and excellence, and gained theatre and event experience through working at the St James Theatre, Westpac Stadium and the Wellington Opera House with productions by Wellington Musical Theatre, the Royal New Zealand Ballet and the New Zealand International Arts Festival.
