Entertainment rules as country comes to town
Two stages will cater for a huge music programme at the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society's annual Summer Show next month.
There will be lots of other free entertainment and activities at Barge Park in Whangarei on December 8-9.
Kamo High School duo Amberly and Luke, who came third in the Rockquest competition, will be on the main stage at 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, December 8.
Carleen Still will perform on the main stage that day, with her "country chick" music adding to the rural flavour.
Those who like a faster pace will enjoy local band Furious 3 on stage at 11.30am on Sunday followed by singing duo Annette and Kim.
Back by popular demand will be cuddly BJ Bear, who will perform at 11.30am and 3.30pm daily on the main stage.
Entertainment on the second stage will include Highland dancing from 10.30am on Saturday.
On Sunday, entertainment on stage two will include sheep-shearing unlike anything you have seen - complete with a farmer explaining how to give sheep a haircut.
Storyteller Kelly Belly-Button will also be enthralling children at the show.
Entry to the Summer Show will cost $5 a person, with children under five free.
