Dealers for High Court

The District Court has declined jurisdiction to deal with two drug dealers and has sent the cases to the High Court for sentencing.

Tony Keegan, 19, and Warren Croft, 24, appeared for sentencing in the Whangarei District Court yesterday on various cannabis-related charges.

Keegan is facing five charges of selling cannabis and four of offering to sell cannabis while Croft is charged with three counts of selling cannabis.

Judge Duncan Harvey granted applications by the Crown for the duo to be sentenced by the High Court.

Keegan's lawyer John Day did not oppose the Crown application and she was granted bail until her High Court appearance on November 13.

Croft will also appear in the High Court that day.

Judge Harvey said Croft clearly ran a tinnie house and had previous breaches of community work and bail.
