Another season in the pocket

Another very successful season has come to an end for the Kaitaia RSA Golden Oldies' Pool Club, president Arthur Simeon having more reason than most to look back on it fondly.

He won the Morgan Nathan Trophy (with Lou Te Haara), the men's round robin trophy, and was named club champion.

Petro Andersen and Ron Berghan won the Nepia Memorial, and Jean Holland the round robin ladies' trophy.

It wasn't quite a stellar year though. Arthur said membership had fallen, for a variety of reasons including the fact that everyone was getting older, but the club had been quite successful in sticking to its weekly programme and making monthly trips out of the area to venues as far afield as the Whangarei RSA.
