Whangarei woman dies following domestic dispute
A Whangarei woman has died in hospital following a domestic dispute.
The 34-year-old woman was taken to hospital on Saturday morning after suffering head injures arising from an alleged assault in her Fairway Dv home the night before.
It's believed shedied about 1pm today.
Police have named her as Patrica Anne McGrath of Whangarei.
Phillip Andre Mahanga, 32, appeared in Whangarei District Court on Monday and entered no plea to a charge of assaulting the woman. He was remanded in custody until January 21 when his lawyer will make an application for bail.
The couple had been living at the Fairway Drv home.
Police teams interviewed neighbours in the area over the weekend and took away exhibits from the house.
